Construction Assistant

Applications are invited for the position of Construction Assistant, based at Council's Inverell Works Centre. The successful applicant shall be responsible for safe operation and maintenance of plant and equipment associated with maintenance and construction works throughout the Shire.

Applicants should address the following selection criteria:

Essential

Qualifications

• NSW School Certificate/ Record of School Achievement or equivalent.
• NSW Class MR Drivers Licence;
• SafeWork NSW General Construction Induction card ('White Card');
• Traffic Control Certification; and
• Implement Traffic Control Certification. 

Skills and Experience

• Practical Knowledge in Levels.
• Suitable experience in the road construction field

 Employment will be in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Local Government (State) Award 2023.  The classification for the position will be up to Operational Band 1, Level 2, Grade 2.  Salary will be in accordance with qualifications and experience, and will be in a range from $999.85 to $1,054.90 gross per week.  In addition a Level 1 Adverse Working Conditions Allowance of $0.498 per hour will be paid where applicable.
