Phytophthora Dieback Mapping Trainee

Glevan Consulting is seeking a dedicated Phytophthora Dieback Mapping Trainee to join our team in Pinjarra, Western Australia. This full-time role will provide you with the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the field of conservation and environmental management.

What you'll be doing

• Conducting surveys and assessments to identify and map the presence of Phytophthora Dieback, a plant pathogen that threatens native ecosystems
• Assisting with the implementation of Phytophthora Dieback management strategies, including the development of hygiene protocols and monitoring programs
• Collaborating with landowners, government agencies, and other stakeholders to raise awareness and educate the community about Phytophthora Dieback
• Maintaining detailed records and contributing to the ongoing research and development of Phytophthora Dieback management practices

What you’ll need

• A passion for the natural environment and a keen interest in conservation and environmental management
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow established protocols and procedures
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• A willingness to learn and develop new skills in the field of Phytophthora Dieback management, including learning new software and devices
• Prioritisation of health and safety processes, with proven ability to comply with mandatory safety standards
• A C Class driver’s licence is an essential requirement of the role
