About the role

This is a key leadership position within AiC’s newly created Project Compliance and Partnerships team. You will lead a team of four and be responsible for ensuring AiC’s carbon projects meet Clean Energy Regulator (CER) requirements and approved methodologies. The role also manages key stakeholder and Indigenous partnerships to ensure obligations are clearly communicated, culturally appropriate, and fully auditable.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead AiC’s newly structured Project Compliance and Partnerships team, overseeing four direct reports
  • Drive the end-to-end delivery of compliance, reporting and audit processes under the ACCU Scheme
  • Oversee the preparation of audit-ready Offset Reports and manage regulatory engagement with the CER
  • Ensure internal systems and documentation meet regulatory evidence standards
  • Collaborate with internal teams and technical specialists to operationalise carbon methodologies
  • Manage stakeholder and Indigenous agreements, consents and commitments in line with audit expectations
  • Build a high-performing team culture with clear KPIs, structured feedback, and shared accountability

What you bring

  • 7+ years’ experience in compliance, audit, or regulatory reporting, including leadership of cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated success managing audits, offset reporting, or regulatory engagement in a highly regulated environment
  • Strong working knowledge of regulatory frameworks and audit processes - ideally within carbon markets or a related sector
  • Proven ability to lead others, build systems, and deliver accurate, defensible compliance documentation
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills - with experience working with Indigenous communities and rural landholders
  • Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Audit, Environmental Law, Risk, or a related discipline
  • A reputation for integrity, professionalism, and credibility - with the judgement and presence to lead in a compliance-focused environment.

What’s in it for you

  • Step into a high-impact leadership role with clear accountability and the opportunity to shape a newly structured team
  • Join a purpose-led organisation backed by long-term shareholders
  • Work on meaningful, large-scale carbon projects that deliver tangible environmental and stakeholder outcomes
  • Collaborate with capable, values-aligned colleagues who are passionate about building something that lasts
  • Enjoy flexibility, autonomy, and a flat structure where your voice is heard and your work drives real outcomes
  • Be part of a business that’s scaling up sustainably - with the resources, support, and intent to get it right

An attractive salary will be negotiated based on skills and experience.
