The Role

This is a fixed term role ending March 2026.

The Illegal Dumping Compliance Officer, reporting to the Principal Environmental Health will work collaboratively with Environmental Health Officers to investigate & respond to littering & illegal dumping occurrences; carry out enforcement actions under the Waste Reduction & Recycling Act 2011 and prepare and deliver community education & promotional activities.

About You

You will have qualifications relevant to the role or experience in a similar role, along with the knowledge or ability to interpret and understand Waste Reduction & Recycling Act 2011 and the relationship with other laws or legislation specific to illegal dumping & littering.

You will have demonstrated experience in the investigation of illegal dumping, local law breaches and report writing & legal proceedings. A high level of communication skills, including excellent report writing, letter writing, telephone negotiation & interpersonal skills is essential, as well as your time management skills and ability to work autonomously.
