Development Manager You will be responsible for defining & implementing the regions overall quarry reserve, resource and end use strategy; ensuring sufficient, high-quality materials are available in current and future markets whilst ensuring our social licence to operate. You will also lead, provide support and engineering/technical expertise regarding planning and licensing requirements for our Aggregate and concrete operations across Victoria and Tasmania. It is essential for this role to work collaboratively as a senior member of the Regional Leadership Team to influence and deliver on the regional strategic vision. Lead the Development Team and consultants to deliver the planning, licencing and approvals requirements for the region. Preparing Work Authority and Planning permit applications for all sectors of the Southern Region Business. Preparing variations to Work plans and Planning permits. Negotiate with the Government on Industry matters.


Work with the relevant Government bodies. Project manage new operations, manage costs, and prepare Capex for projects Develop reclamation plans and oversee propagation of native species. Develops and Implements the Strategy for ensuring sustainable quarry resources. Assist with the consistent approach to mine/pit planning, optimising stripping, haulage and rehabilitation costs. Yearly validate the regional reserves and resources.


Review the development plan for concrete coverage of Metro and Country Operations and Tas Background and Experience required: Degree qualifications in related field Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the construction industry Leadership and Project Management experience Strong commercial experience Building materials industry knowledge Familiarity with different quarry methods (i.e sand production, hard rock quarrying) OH&S and Environmental Standards knowledge Knowledge of Government license and permit applications process Knowledge of mine planning software About Heidelberg Materials With more than 4,000 employees across 300 sites, we have an extensive production and logistics network across Australia.
