Mechanic / Diesel Fitter (Leading Hand)

Information on the Position:

Flinders Shire Council is seeking suitably skilled, experienced, and qualified candidates for the role of Leading Hand Mechanic / Diesel Fitter.

The Leading Hand Mechanic / Diesel Fitter will be responsible for providing both proactive and reactive maintenance across Council’s light and heavy plant/fleet, as well as further responsibilities when requested from the Senior Fleet Services Coordinator.

As a representative of Council, demonstrated professionalism and a commitment to a high level of service and continuous improvement in the best interest of Council and the Community are essential.

The position is classified as a Level C10 – C7 under the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream C) Award – State 2017, including a Leading Hand allowance. Other allowances including overtime and penalty rate may also be available.

This is a permanent full-time position. The standard hours of work are 6.00am – 3.30pm (38 hours a week), working a 9-day fortnight. (i.e. one day a fortnight is a paid day off).
